Tips for Smooth Streaming on Android TV box
- Use Ethernet whenever possible, especially for live sports in 4K.
- Turn off “Match frame rate” if you see black flashes between channels on your television.
- Keep at least 20% of storage free so apps can update.
- Reboot the box once a month to clear memory.
Android TV Box Troubleshooting
I cannot find the app in Google Play
Some apps are not available for every box model. Tell us which box you have, and we will suggest an alternative.
The app crashes on launch
Clear the app cache from Settings, Apps, then restart the box. Reinstall the app if the crash continues.
Video stutters in 4K
Switch to a wired connection or select a lower resolution in the app. Make sure the HDMI cable supports 4K.
No sound on some channels
Open the app’s audio settings and try a different audio output mode, such as stereo instead of passthrough.
The remote cannot reach the search box
Use voice search or pair a Bluetooth keyboard, or use your phone as a remote through the Google TV app.
Understanding Your Login Details
After your Interac e-Transfer is received, we email the details you need. Depending on the app, you will see a server URL (sometimes called a portal or host), a username and a password. Some apps ask for a single playlist link instead. Always copy the details exactly as written: a missing letter or an extra space is the most common reason a login fails on Android TV box setups.
Keep your login private. It is tied to the number of devices you ordered, and sharing it with friends can cause both of you to be logged out. If you lose the email, check your spam folder or contact support with your order number.
How Much Internet Speed Do You Need?
Live TV uses a steady stream of data, and the amount depends on picture quality. As a rule of thumb, a standard-definition channel needs about 3 Mbps, an HD channel about 6 to 8 Mbps and a 4K channel 20 Mbps or more. Add a margin for other people using the network at the same time. If your household streams on several screens, aim for at least 25 Mbps for HD or 50 Mbps for several 4K screens.
Run a speed test from the same room where your android tv box is located, not only next to the router. If the result is much lower than your plan, try a wired connection, move the router, or switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. These small changes fix most buffering complaints without any extra cost.
Quick Checklist Before You Contact Support
- Re-type your login details and confirm there are no spaces.
- Restart the app, then the device, then the router.
- Test another channel and another device to see whether the issue is with one channel or everything.
- Note any error message, your order number and your device model.
With that information, our team can usually find the cause within a few minutes.
Use the Same Login on Other Screens
Your plan is not limited to one kind of screen. When you order, you can choose up to five devices, and each extra device adds 60% of the plan price. A common setup is a main television in the living room, a second box in the bedroom and a phone for travel. Browse the other setup guides to see the steps for each one, or read about the channel lineup to decide which package suits you.
